I wrote this online article for Ohio State students to better understand what has changed on campus in Dining Services. A lot is new this year! While leading the marketing for Dining Services, I saw an opportunity to use the existing “Your Student Life” columns to reach students. These articles are not only featured on the Student Life website but also at the top of onCampus Today, the email newsletter that goes to all students.
The goal of this article is to educate students about their on-campus dining options within Student Life’s Dining Services. So much has changed; I wanted to create a one-stop shop for seeing all that’s new.

Article:
Welcome back, Buckeyes! Whether you’re returning to campus or starting your first semester at Ohio State, there are plenty of new dining options, refreshed spaces and added conveniences waiting for you this year. Student Life Dining Services continues to expand choices across campus, making it easier than ever to grab breakfast, fuel a late-night study session or have dinner delivered right to your favorite campus spot.
Blenz Arrives on Campus
One of the biggest additions this semester is Blenz, now available at both Sloopy’s in the Ohio Union and Marketplace on Neil. If you’re a fan of smoothies or açaí bowls with fresh fruit toppings, this is a stop you’ll want to add to your regular rotation.
New Food at Sloopy’s Diner
Over at Sloopy’s Diner in the Ohio Union, you can still enjoy the breakfast favorites and diner classics you know and love, but there’s something new on the menu as well.
The location now features Hellenic Greek Kitchen, serving authentic Greek and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. You can order ahead through Grubhub for pickup or have your meal delivered by a cute food robot.
More Boba, More Breakfast
Looking for a new drink option? Boba tea beverages are now available at Courtside Café, Hamilton Café and Postle Café, giving you another way to refresh between classes. You can still find boba tea at KSA Café and Crane Café.
And if breakfast is your thing, Espress-OH in the Ohio Union now offers build-your-own hot breakfast sandwiches, making your morning stop even more customizable.
Sweet Treats and New Favorites
If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll be excited to hear that Der Dutchman bakery favorites are now available at locations across campus.
Meanwhile, Traditions at Morrill is introducing freshly made bone-in chicken wings with your choice of wet sauces or dry rubs. While you’re there, don’t miss one of campus dining’s best-kept secrets: the pizza. Both wings and pizza are available for dine-in, carryout and delivery through Grubhub.
Refreshed Dining Spaces
You may notice that a few favorite dining locations look a little different this year.
Marketplace on Neil has been remodeled with additional seating, more outlets for studying and a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere.
McPherson Café and Connecting Grounds also received updates, including refreshed furniture and expanded seating areas designed for gathering, studying or enjoying a quick break between classes.
Meal Swipes Go Further
Dining plans are getting a boost this year. Students with a meal plan can now exchange a meal swipe for $9 in value at retail dining locations, giving you even more flexibility when deciding where to eat.
Continuous Service at Traditions
Be sure to check dining hours, either online or through Grubhub, as some locations have updated schedules this semester.
You’ll also appreciate a new convenience at Traditions at Kennedy and Traditions at Morrill, which now offer continuous service between 3 and 4 p.m., eliminating the afternoon gap between meal periods.
Rover Delivery Expands
Need food delivered? Ohio State Dining now has 130 food delivery rovers operating across campus, helping bring meals and smiles directly to students in more locations than ever before.
Away Game Food Truck Lineup
On away football game Saturdays, you’ll find food trucks at the North Clocktower:
- Pitabilities: Noon to 4 p.m.
- Kubido: 4 to 8 p.m.
Even better, you can use your dining plan at the food trucks.
Limited Time Offers
Be on the lookout for new menu items from September 21 through December 6 at cafes and marketplaces across campus. Dining Services will refresh menus three times during the semester, with new offerings arriving on September 21, October 19 and November 10.
